LPW gets a new permit, but what does that mean?
Linden Park Whisk passed inspection and was permitted as a food processing plant. So what does that mean? Well, it means I can now sell wholesale as well as retail. And unlike with the previous cottage food permit, I am no longer limited to only making certain products. Soon I will be offering monthly treat boxes. Sampler boxes will contain three flavors of one type of treat. The sampler will consist of one of the following: gourmet brownies, cookies, sweet and savory tartlets, cake slices, hand pies, and an occasional special treat appearance (tiramisu maybe?).
So what does that mean for cakes? I will continue making cakes but I will be limiting how many custom* orders (1-2 a month) I will take. I love making cakes but I believe people want small treats they can enjoy now and not have to wait for a special occasion to order a cake.
As for wholesale, if you know of any coffee shops or food places that can do with some individual sized and packaged gluten-free treats on sale, let me know (hello@lindenparkwhisk.com)! I plan to hit the pavement and visit these shops with samples in hand.
*As of now I will not be limiting the designs offered in my cake shop.
